Hello Bloggers!
Happy August. Do you really know who you are? Isn’t it easy to figure everyone else out. Isn’t it easy to blame everyone else for who you are? Seriously, do you know who you are? I recently attended an International Transactional Analysis Conference. There were folks from all over the world. We sat in workshops hearing about new books. We learned new theories and exercises to share with our clients. We met Dr. Eric Berne’s daughter. He created TA. It was an amazing experience for myself and over 200 others from so many countries.
When I talk about your Parent, Adult, and Child Ego states, I am learning about your personality. At any one time each of us is operating from one of those Ego States. The Parent is where all the messages from our Parents (should )are. The Adult is our computer where we make decisions…we say what we want and don’t want. The Child Ego State is where all the feelings we had as a kid are…the fun or in some cases not so fun.
I want to work with you if you want to strengthen any one of these Ego States. Maybe you don’t make good decisions. Maybe you don’t have enough fun. Maybe you have messages programed in your head that you really don’t like and want to change.
The better you know who you are the better you will relate to other people. Your boyfriend, spouse, neighbor, child, girlfriend, your boss, co-workers and anyone you relate to.
Through some diagrams and definitions I will teach you strategies to communicate with others. Consider investigating my Monday night group or scheduling a session with me soon. I will be able to tell you if one or more Ego states requires strengthening. The goal is to have a balanced life. The Ego States in TA is a place to start. Look forward to hearing from you. After this experience you will know more about your personality.
All the best,
Cathy
