Happy New Year 2016! Are you afraid to take risks? A lot of my clients are. Mostly women. I’ve talked to hundreds of people in my 5 years of educating people with communication skills. I’ve come to the conclusion that women are more afraid to take risks then men. First of all, feelings are not negotiable! The way out of a negative feeling is a positive decision followed by action or in action as soon as possible! Let’s start with the reason for the risk. “Do I tell him I want to leave if he doesn’t marry me?” says the female client. I ask “afraid of what?” Client says “If I bring it up he might leave me.” I respond “so what if he leaves you.” ….Bloggers are you getting the picture. Some times in life we take risks. It could be in romance or maybe a new job. If we never take them, how will be creative and move forward with our lives? I used this example because it’s so common. When you become comfortable with prizes for the risk and price tags for the risks it makes it easier to make the decision. If you don’t take risks you will continue to wonder, and never get to be creative in a stuck situation! Even I was afraid to take a risk, new jobs, getting married, new investments etc. If you want to keep doing the same things without risks ….don’t complain about how your life is boring! You have every right to complain, be aware of price tags and prizes! Happy New Year!
